RE: Anybody ever build a 12v generator?

my first generator was made from that very material. used a 10 horse Briggs with out the recoil start, had to wrap the rope around the starting bell, and 12v generator not an alternator. mounted it on a 2 X 12 and it worked great for several years. used it a lot during elk season.

RE: Question for GM and Chevy Truck People

there are a few differences in the two. One is the emblem on the front and the other is the interior materials for the seats etc. the motor and the drive train are all the same. Come to think of it, I have always wondered why GM made two trucks the same but with different names. I guess you can fool some of the people some of the time. I had a neighbor years ago who worked for GMC and he told me the only difference in the two trucks where, Chevy when it left the factory had all the bolts tightened and the GMC had to be gone through to tighten the bolts

RE: drip..drip..drip

after you check the four bolts, either do it yourself or have a dealer do it for you, replace the gasket under the A/C unit. I probably is shot and needs to be replaced.

RE: Have to replace tongue jack

don't know about Ultra Fab company, but I had a barker that was 20 years old and they sent me parts to repair it. I got it running again and gave it to my son, he used it for two yeas and gave it to his cousin. Reason, I got rid of it, I got a new TT and it had a new Barker on it. Same with my son, then the cousin got a new TT. Barker stands behind their products, and I can attest to that. End of story.

Jupiter and Venus

I know this will be moved by some over zealous moderator, but starting tonight for those of you that have clear skies, through Monday, Jupiter and Venus and the crescent moon will be visible in the southern skies. One gal I know said they looked like landing lights on the biggest airplane ever. The two planets can be seen at various times through the future years but with the moon is very rare. The next time you will see the three together will be in 2052. So either look for them in the next few nights or plan on sticking around for the next time. Clear shies everyone.

RE: Good info on keeping your pet safe during the holidays

that's pretty short list. I'm sure I read someplace else that there is a list as long as your arm of stuff not to feed a pet.

RE: mounting my gps on the dashboard on my gmc.

Cabela's and QVC sell a nice round bean bag thing that works good.

RE: what's your garbage can?

I use a small plastic trash can. I remember once we went boon docking on the snake river in eastern Oregon once and picked up about 6 plastic bags of garbage that over time a lot of campers left behind. What a disgrace

RE: Hit and run

I forgot to mention, one of my neighbors stopped by and was talking to me about the hit and run, when I asked him what happened to the passenger side door of his truck, he had a real surprise look on his face, he didn't know he was a victim of hit and run himself. He had a life sized dent in the door and we both cursed silently.

Hit and run

Got into my truck the other day and started it up and was going through my check list and warm up, noticed drivers side mirror was not in the correct position. took a better look at it and the housing was cracked. got out of the truck and the front fender was scuffed also. Some one drove by and side swiped my truck. I was lucky though, only the mirror housing was cracked, I can glue that and I can buff out the scrape on the black beauty ring on the fender. Cops said we would be very lucky to find out who did it. Anyone know how to put curse of a thousand camel fleas on the unknown person?
